Term limits for Supreme Court justices are long overdue, team. This week we rolled out my new Supreme Court term limits bill to help clean up the mess at the Court, ensure that future appointments are less politicized, and bring about a new day at a Supreme Court that has become overtly partisan and driven by right-wing billionaires.

There’s an organized scheme by right-wing special interests who deploy huge amounts of dark money to confirm justices, shepherd legislation through the court system, and lobby the handpicked justices once the handpicked cases arrive on the Court’s doorstep.

My new bill would make the Court more representative of the public and lower the stakes of a new justice’s appointment by ensuring that new justices take the bench every 2 years and by establishing 18-year terms.
