Make an urgent donation to help us fight climate change and save NEPA
John,
Antarctica just broke the record for the warmest temperature ever recorded on the continent.
65°F — nearly the same temperature as in San Diego, California.
This is NOT normal, but instead of taking action, the Trump administration is trying to gut one of our most important tools to fight climate change: the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Food & Water Action is fighting back. But we need your help.
NEPA sets out key guidelines for making federal environmental policy decisions, including whether projects like the Keystone XL pipeline can be approved.
But under Trump’s new policy, by illegally restricting the scope of analysis, climate change wouldn’t even be discussed as part of environmental reviews of major projects.
Our best chance to save this vital protection is to build overwhelming public support against this rollback. But our window to do so closes when the comment period ends on March 10th. That’s why we urgently need your support to finish strong in our campaign to get as many people speaking out as possible.
At a time when we actually need bold, aggressive action to stop the worst impacts of climate change, Trump’s “climate gag rule” would allow projects like new oil pipelines, natural gas export facilities and fracking operations to go forward with no review of their impact on the climate or cumulative effects on the environment and public health.
The good news is we still have time to stop it, but only if we’re able to build up enough support before the public comment period closes on March 10th. We’re working hard to do just that, but we urgently need your support to finish strong.
