The House Republicans made a mess, John.

The GOP got their House majority this year and already there’s been not one but two speakership battles, threats of a government shutdown as well as impeachment talks. It's just a series of time wasters.

Unlike this House Republican majority, my Democratic colleagues and I are here to advocate for you and the essential needs of the people in Sacramento County and across this country.

I can’t emphasize enough how different things were when Democrats were in charge. We passed marriage equality, took historic gun violence prevention and climate action, lowered Rx prices for seniors, and passed a landmark infrastructure package. We got things done.

I've always believed that leaders should put petty politics aside for the good of the nation—working across the aisle to get results. This isn't what we're seeing from the House Republicans.
