John, Jim Jordan has failed. Again. Three times on the House floor, and a final rebuke in the GOP conference’s secret ballot.
He will not be the next Speaker of the House.
But it is rather amazing that such an alarming extremist with a blank 16-year legislative record even made it this far.
Jordan, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, who refused our January 6 committee’s congressional subpoena, and who was one of the most active in trying to overturn the election, was only two dozen votes from potentially presiding over the House of Representatives during the 2024 election.
It’s patently absurd. And it’s dangerous. But this is where Trump’s endorsement and corrupt leadership have brought us. Democrats offered to work with Republicans and select a Speaker that would allow broadly bipartisan bills to come to a vote on the floor. They said no and opted for another failed vote for Jordan.
The House needs a Speaker — and now, but it’s not even clear we will have one in time to avoid a government shutdown next month. This just underscores how vital it is that we elect a Democratic majority next year. I’m counting on your $3 in support to help win this Senate race and help California Democrats up and down the ballot flip the House majority and restore sanity.

The Republican majority’s ongoing exercise in political narcissism, vanity, and complete shamelessness for the past three weeks has been nothing short of a disaster for our country.
The government is weeks from shutting down. Our allies need aid. And our House needs a Speaker.
And we can never, ever come this close to another MAGA extremist becoming Speaker of the House again.
The Associated Press reported that “In 2024, control of the U.S. House could hinge on congressional districts in one famously liberal state: California.”
I’ve spent years helping Democrats win and defend the House majority, and we’re going to need a strong top of the ticket in this Senate race to win California’s 10 competitive House districts and take back the majority. Will you chip in $10 to help?
Thank you,
Adam
