I want to make sure you didn't miss my invitation for next week's special event presenting Alan Khazei, the front-running candidate in the race to succeed Representative Joe Kennedy as the next Congressman from MA-4, on Tuesday, March 10, 6-8pm in McLean, VA. This is an important event as 2020 will be the year we elect an Iranian-American to Congress, and we're going to make it happen with Alan!

NIAC Action formally endorsed Alan in November and we confidently believe he has strong odds in his favor to become the first Iranian American in Congress this year .
Alan is leading the race in terms of fundraising [[link removed]] , volunteer recruitment (reaching 500 volunteers), and national endorsements from the likes of General Stanley McChrystal and Congressman Jamie Raskin , as well as earning early support from Hollywood directors such as JJ Abrams and George Lucas . But in this highly competitive election, it is critical that Iranian Americans come together to support his historic campaign.

These issues are personal to him. His father emigrated from Iran and became a surgeon, treating nearly 20,000 people, but today would be banned from coming here.
Now more than ever, we need to ensure representation in Congress for Iranian Americans. And this is our chance to make that happen. I hope to see you on March 10th.
