Dear Friend,
For over 2 years, the city of Atlanta has been pushing to develop the
largest police training facility in Atlanta. The Atlanta Public Safety
Training Center, or Cop City, would be a space for police to train in
urban warfare and control tactics¹. Not only would the plan to cut down 85
acres of forest land worsen environmental racism, but it would increase
police presence in a majority Black area in DeKalb County.

Last month, local organizers submitted more than 116,00 signatures from
Atlanta voters in support of the referendum to put Cop City on the ballot.
To put Cop City on the ballot, Mayor Dickens’ administration must verify
every signature.
This is now the current challenge as the administration refuses to move
forward with the process of verifying signatures².

MomsRising stands in partnership with M4BL in demanding the Atlanta City
Council:
1. Verify the signatures NOW
2. Publicly call for Mayor Andre and his administration to withdraw the
appeal against the petition
3. Take the reins and vote as a council to put Cop City on the ballot
4. Stop the doxxing of residents who signed petitions by removing the
online petitions
5. LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE THE FUTURE OF ATLANTA!
Thanks for all you do,
