October 20, 2023 The Friday File Donate Now KSGOP CLICK HERE Guest Column by Angel Cushing, Kansas Republican Government Land Grab Program Needs Attention, Stopped A recent local social media post asked what everyone was paying weekly for groceries. The response to that question was overwhelming. The answers averaged $1200 a month for a family of four after cuts to their favorite products were made. International conflicts and political infighting have failed to pull people away from conversations about groceries, most of which revolve around locating the lowest price of particular food items. The increased cost can be determined by asking one simple question: Why is food being transported from far-off distances? Food monopolies have successfully lobbied elected officials and trained college students who now occupy the offices of regulatory agencies. Slowly, empires are being constructed. They now control the production, processing, and distribution of our food. Farmers fight monopolies in order to fill consumer demand but, their efforts have only carved out small niches, hobby and agri-tourism markets. Preservation for Recreation schemes sold to elected officials as tourism, aid in monopoly building for food industries. This gives the regulators an opportunity to leverage against farmers through federal jurisdictional policies. The difference between Preservation for Recreation schemes such as National Heritage Areas and 30x30, is access to land. Private property owners and the general public will not be allowed to access 30% of U.S. lands and waters by the year 2030. The same agencies overseeing Preservation for Recreation Schemes are also tasked with implementing 30x30 and will likely be tasked to implement 50x50. 30x30 is an old idea from the 1960s that was captured in a 1987 essay called “Buffalo Commons”. It was an argument to eliminate private property ownership and demanded a Buffalo Preserve. The laws needed to implement 30x30 are already in place and thanks to the federal budget passed by Congress in December of 2022, 30x30 is now fully funded. Very few of the 105 Kansas counties are growing in population, and most are declining. This makes Kansas a prime target. Eventually, implementing 30x30 will reduce our population enough to lose more seats in Congress. When that happens, there will be no strength at the federal level to prevent Kansas lands from becoming a Buffalo Preserve. More than 50 counties in Kansas have passed resolutions against Preservation for Recreation schemes, and about 20 have passed resolutions against 30x30. Thanks to those resolutions, our state and federal officials are listening. More resolutions by county governments would help them to take action. Each food monopoly is trying to be the next East India Trading Company. They do not care how hungry people will get. All they care about is ensuring their products are your only choice. Please get involved. Note: From time to time, the Friday File Guest Column has been and will be made available to all Republican candidates for President of the United States. Friday File Sign Up CLICK HERE Conservatively Speaking by KSGOP Chairman Mike Brown World On Fire The current Democrat administration led by Joe Biden has brought about increased instability and uncertainty at home and on the global stage. While opinions about any administration can vary widely, it's important for Americans to critically examine the specific challenges we face today. Among many current pressing concerns is our staggering national debt, which has reached an alarming $33 trillion. This financial burden not only threatens our fiscal stability but also raises questions about the long-term economic prospects for our nation. The state of border security is another issue of great significance. With a wide-open southern border, the potential for onshore terrorism becomes a genuine threat. The inability to adequately monitor those who enter our country poses a risk to national security and is a dereliction of duty by Biden& Co. The situation in the Middle East, with Israel facing proxy attacks from Iran and tensions in the region on the rise, is unsettling. The involvement of global powers like China and Russia only adds to the complexity. The potential for a full-scale conflict in the Middle East is a troubling prospect that must not be overlooked. The current state of inflation, reaching record highs, and the rising cost of oil, predicted to hit $100 a barrel, impact the daily lives and financial well-being of all Americans. These challenges are compounded by a nearly depleted strategic oil reserve, leaving us vulnerable to energy disruptions and without fuel backup in an emergency. Foreign policy decisions, such as releasing $6 billion to Iran, raise concerns about the effectiveness and transparency of our diplomatic efforts. Incidents involving the President, such as being stood up during travel plans and his incessant fumbling, bumbling, and stumbling, Egg can influence perceptions of the administration's inability to handle international affairs and projects weakness. Economic indicators, such as the stock market's decline from its high, sky-high inflation and perceived confusion within the Federal Reserve, contribute to economic uncertainties and require much scrutiny and careful management to avoid more unforced damage. The lame action and complete incompetence of Vice President Kamala Harris, mainly when she speaks or acts during her "college tour," are subject to varying interpretations; however there is no debate that she should never be the President of the United States. Ever. Other domestic issues, including existing home sales hitting a 13-year low, deservedly raise concern. The allocation of +$113 billion in US financial aid to Ukraine, with seemingly no oversight, raises questions about accountability and integrity. The killing of innocent Israelis’ and the subsequent recent rise of anti-Semitism and protests here in the USA in support of the Hamas terror organization are alarming trends that shocks the conscience. It is jarring and unacceptable that a member of Congress, Rashida Tlaib, was flying a Palestinian flag outside her office in our Capital. The inability of Congressional Republicans to elect a Speaker of the House reflects the political challenges and divisions within our legislative branch, which leaves America vulnerable and at risk. Too, it points out that being a Conservative/Republican is a much more challenging position in being a free thinker and wanting the government to leave us alone versus the intellectually lazy Liberal/Democrat position of “Let someone else handle it and let the government pay for it.” Our position requires grit and rugged independence. It's messy. It will sort itself out soon. But still, it's a mess right now. These challenges, and many others, are undeniable. While the assessment of any administration is obviously subjective, it's clear that our nation faces many complex issues that require pragmatic solutions, open dialogue, and constructive engagement to navigate successfully. And it would be helpful to have a leader in the form of a President who, at least, knows what day it is and what Office he holds. Facts and Figures The Republican Party Stands Behind Israel The Republican Party stands behind Israel, one of America’s strongest allies. Last month, Joe Biden unfroze $6 billion for Iran, the largest state sponsor of terror, and now Israel is again under attack. Time and time again, Biden’s weakness and appeasement of Iran and some Democrats' anti-Israel, antisemitic rhetoric have emboldened our enemies. We strongly condemn the terrorist attacks against the people of Israel, who have every right to defend themselves against these unprovoked attacks. What you need to know: Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts and prayers remain with our friends in Israel, one of America’s strongest allies. Everyone should unequivocally condemn these horrific acts of terrorism. The Republican Party stands with Israel and the Israeli people’s right to defend themselves against these unprovoked attacks. President Biden must condemn the vile anti-Israel rhetoric coming from some Democrat Members of Congress. When asked about horrific images from Israel, Democrat Congresswoman and Squad member Rashida Tlaib had no reply. Joe Biden’s weak leadership has made the world less safe, and our enemies have been emboldened. On the anniversary 9/11, the Administration unlocked $6 billion for the Iranian regime, the largest state sponsor of terrorism. All under Joe Biden’s watch: The Taliban has taken over Afghanistan. Russia invaded Ukraine. China is menacing Taiwan. This Administration has failed to stand up to our enemies, and our allies are questioning whether we are reliable. The bottom line: Despite Democrats' weakness, one thing is clear: Republicans will always stand with Israel. Bidenflation Isn't Going Away Biden and his destructive economic policies continue to make life more difficult and expensive for Americans. What you need to know: The latest Consumer Price Index data shows year-over-year inflation, coming in higher than expected at 3.7% and remaining more than twice the rate when Biden took office. Inflation has risen by 17.7% since Biden took office – with Americans still reeling from the lasting effects of inflation. Real wages remain lower than when Biden first took office. Median household income has fallen for two straight years under Biden and remains below pre-pandemic levels. Americans are suffering from the lasting effects of Biden’s historic inflation, with many unable to pay bills, save for retirement, or afford rent. 60% of Americans report living paycheck-to-paycheck. 56% of Americans say they’re not on track to comfortably retire. Bide JC nomics has cost the middle class $2.4 trillion since March 2022. The average middle-class household has lost over $33,000 in real wealth in just the past year. Low-income Americans are being hit the hardest by inflation according to studies by the New York Fed, Dallas Fed, and the Urban Institute. Americans are increasingly borrowing to cover daily expenses, finding their regular income is no longer enough to make ends meet. Credit card, auto loan, and consumer loan delinquencies are at their highest levels since the Great Recession — and could go even higher. U.S. average gas prices currently sit at $3.65 per gallon, which is $1.25 higher than when Biden became president. The typical American family is spending $709 more a month on the same goods and services as they were two years ago. American families are seeing higher prices for virtually everything, and they know exactly who to blame: Biden and Democrats. Just 33% of Americans approve of Biden's handling of the economy. 55% of Americans believe the economy is getting worse and 64% believe the country is on the wrong track. 78% of Americans say the economy is in bad shape. Half of Americans say their financial situation is worsening while only 35% of Americans approve of Biden's handling of inflation. The bottom line: Republicans now have a 21-point advantage on which political party better handles the economy – the largest lead in NBC News polling history. Voters trust Republicans to get the job done and need to be elected up and down the ballot. Local Election Dates Approach Local Elections Matter - Make Your Plan To Vote Now!
