John,
The American labor movement is experiencing a renaissance and that’s good for workers, good for the economy, and good for business. The median net worth of working-class union households is almost 4 times that of non-union households.
I was one of the first members of Congress to join the Writers Guild of America on the picket line and I stood with them for over 100 days until they won wage increases and protections against AI outsourcing. I stood with healthcare workers at Kaiser Permanente who just reached a tentative agreement for living wages and safe patient standards.
And I’ve been on the line with autoworkers, actors, and Starbucks baristas who are still fighting for the pay raises and improved working conditions they deserve.
These hardworking people represent the heart and soul of the American economy, making incredible strides for their industries. But we need to go further and make it easier for all workers to organize, form unions, ensure that corporations allow free and fair union elections, and demand that union workers are not retaliated against by Big Business.
Sign if you agree: We must strengthen workers’ right to organize.
