Governor Names Interim Director of the Department of Education and Workforce

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today issued the following statement after a Franklin County judge dissolved the temporary restraining order preventing the Department of Education and Workforce from operating:

?I am thrilled that the restraining order has been dissolved and we can focus on the important work of moving forward to help our kids be better prepared for life after high school, whether choosing additional training, beginning a career, or heading to college.?

?I have asked Jessica Voltolini to serve as the interim director of the Department of Education and Workforce beginning Monday.? She will lead the department as we resume our search for the director and deputy director positions.?

Voltolini previously served at the former Department of Education in various roles in the past including as the director of policy and legislative affairs and assistant legal counsel and most recently as chief of staff. Prior to returning to the government in 2022, Voltolini worked in private practice at a national law firm. She received her juris doctorate and undergraduate degrees from Capital University.
