In recent speaker news, Jim Jordan just tied the record for the fewest speaker votes for a majority nominee since the House was set at 435 members.

This situation is an insult to our democracy. MAGA extremists have grinded our government to a halt hoping to elect an insurrectionist and election denier – who still cannot receive enough votes to win speaker after three votes. 

The mere fact that so many of my Republican colleagues are willing to back someone who tried to overturn our election is scary – we need to make sure that no election denier, MAGA member, or extremist enabler becomes the next Speaker of the House.
