Thank you to Oklahoma's Transportation Secretary Tim Gatz for stopping by the office this week. We discussed the significant progress of Oklahoma’s Eight Year Construction Work Plan and strategies, such as funding through our FY23 Appropriations, to further investments in our states roads and bridges.

I recently had the honor of meeting with Gold Star Families in Washington. It’s not just our servicemen and women who sacrifice for our freedoms – it’s their loved ones too. We remain forever indebted to these families for their sacrifice and we will ensure the legacies of their loved ones are never forgotten.

Every year, the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) honors individuals, families, or organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of children in need of permanent homes. I'm proud to share Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City has been named CCAI’s 2023 “Angel in Adoption” honoree.
 
Catholic Charities assists families in OKC with the adoption processes, parent support classes, and family counseling. Most recently, Catholic Charities installed the first Safe Haven Baby Box in the state of Oklahoma at a fire station in Oklahoma City. Adoption and foster care are very close to my family’s heart, and I am grateful to those who make it their mission to better the lives of children in foster care and adoption.

I had a great time touring the Ditch Witch manufacturing facility in Perry, Oklahoma. Seeing a need, Charles Malzahn created the first trenching machine that is now sold worldwide. From the beginning, the Malzahn family has been motivated by their desire to benefit the Perry community, and they continue that belief today. The entrepreneurial spirit of the Malzahn family has grown the business to new heights – contributing to Ditch Witch’s success as a leading employer in the area and the operation of more than 200 retailers worldwide. Thank you to Kurt Andrews, Michaelblake Bezruki, and Melanie McGuire for your hospitality. 

I had a great afternoon recently with the Guthrie Chamber at their members appreciation luncheon. We chatted about burdensome federal regulation and the role it played in my journey to Washington. It was a great event in Mineral Wells Park, and I want to thank chamber president Brittany Timmons for having me, as well as Guthrie Mayor, Steve Gentling and the members who were in attendance.

It was great to meet with the American Subcontractors Association of Oklahoma last week. We discussed everything from the speaker's race in Washington to the war in Israel and the importance of getting tough on China. Thank you to those who came out and made it a great event.

You can go after a snake's body all you want, but the most effective way to neutralize a threat is to cut off its head. I joined Fox Business on Monday to discuss the importance of addressing Iran's involvement behind Hamas and Hezbollah's terrorist activity and rule with peace through strength. Check it out here.

My office hosted a Telephone Town Hall event for Oklahomans on Tuesday night. It was a privilege to chat with so many of you about the issues that are top of mind for you and your family.
