DES to close Water Street temporarily for underground utility work
Scope & Impact: A portion of Water Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for approximately two weeks beginning Monday, Oct. 23 for underground utility work as part of Legislative Campus Modernization. In addition, the sidewalk on the East side of Water Street and twelve assigned parking spots will be closed. Assigned parkers have been notified. The West sidewalk will remain open.
Drivers and pedestrians should follow all detour signage.
Where: Water Street between Sid Snyder Avenue Southwest and 15th Avenue Southwest.
When: Monday, Oct. 23 through approximately Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Why: Required electrical work on utilities for the Newhouse Building replacement project.
All work is weather dependent. The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with Hoffman Construction at Seattle for this effort.
