Welcome to your October update from the Phoenix, AZ Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. We have important events to discuss, so let's dive in.
Join Phoenix DSA at 1:00pm tomorrow (Saturday, 10/21) for our second in-person chapter meeting of 2023! We will discuss our ongoing campaigns, upcoming actions, current events, and much more. A special "Thank You" to our host, UNITE HERE! Local 11.
This meeting will be focused on action, organization, and member integration. As 2024 approaches and our work expands, our chapter must also expand our organizational structure. If you would like to support the chapter in any capacity, whether political, organizational, administrative, or creative, please RSVP at this link and attend our October Chapter meeting tomorrow (Saturday, 10/21) at 1:00pm! A hybrid option will also be available.
At 3:00pm on Saturday, October 21, following our regular chapter meeting, Phoenix DSA will be hosting a hybrid canvasser training for our priority campaign, Arizona Works Together!
Now that the campaign's legislative language has been reviewed by both government and coalition attorneys and submitted to the Secretary of State in final form, we need all hands on deck to gather signatures for this historic effort!
Canvassing strangers for signatures can be scary, but with training and consistency the task becomes much easier. If you want to help us abolish anti-union "right-to-work" laws in Arizona, please RSVP at this link and show up for training at 3:00pm tomorrow (Saturday, 10/21).

Phoenix Pride Parade!

Join Phoenix DSA on Sunday, October 22 as we march in this year's Phoenix Pride Parade! We have a float (shout out to comrade Dillon Dugan for the use of his truck), free candy to give out, comrades attending from around the state, and much more!
We will be meeting in Phoenix on 3rd Street, just south of the intersection with Roanoke. You can take public transportation or park at Central Mall. We need to be lined up by 9:00 AM, so please arrive early to help decorate the float. Please wear family-friendly attire: DSA shirts if you have them; we will have accessories. Remember that the parade will be 1.5 miles long, so wear your walking shoes and bring water!

All Out for Palestine - Tempe Rally
The Phoenix, AZ Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America stands firmly with the Palestinian people as they struggle for survival under colonial oppression and apartheid.
Tomorrow (Saturday, 10/21) at 10:00am, multiple anti-imperialist organizations are holding a rally at Old Main in Tempe (400 East Tyler Street, Tempe, AZ 85281) in opposition to the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. We strongly encourage our comrades to attend and show their support for a free Palestine. Masks are required for health and safety.
