Dear John,

One week ago, on Wednesday, February 26th, a gunman opened fire at the Molson Coors campus in Milwaukee, killing five of his coworkers before taking his own life. This tragedy -- in our backyard -- has shaken me -- and all of us -- to the core.

The tragedy was both predictable and preventable, and Wisconsin lawmakers can and must do something to prevent such a tragedy from recurring. When Governor Evers called lawmakers into a special session to take up gun legislation in November last year, Republican leaders ended the session without a debate or a vote.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, on the same day the shooting devastated Milwaukee, "Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald...made clear [again] that the state's gun laws would not change under a Republican-controlled Legislature despite a call for a review from Democratic Gov. Tony Evers."

That is unacceptable. Gun industry profits, which help fund Fitzgerald, are not more important than the human lives - children, parents, friends, siblings - we are losing daily and in tragedies like the one at Molson Coors.

>>Click here right now to let Governor Evers know that he must call for another special legislative session on gun violence. Ask him to relentlessly support bills that will save lives, including background checks on all gun sales and extreme risk protection order laws.

Change starts now; change begins here. We are Milwaukee Strong; we are Wisconsin Strong.

Together,

Jeri
