Today, I joined my Democratic colleagues in voting for Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House—a vote I’ll take as many times as necessary to stop extremists from becoming Speaker.

Democrats remain united and ready to lower costs for working families and make our communities safer.

This week, Republicans once again showed us they’re unfit to govern. After ousting McCarthy from the Speakership last week, they nominated extremist, election-denier Jim Jordan. Today, he once again failed to clinch the Speakership after a third vote.

Though this represents a victory for our democracy, we must not lose sight of our goal: We must get Republicans out of office.
