His epic Speaker flameout speaks volumes about him as a person. View in browser

John,

Jim Jordan has now tried THREE TIMES to beat his colleagues into submission and win a vote to become Speaker...and he has now FAILED three times in a row. This is welcome news—but we can’t get complacent or take our eyes off the ball.

Jordan is a mean, petty person who is only in politics to pursue power and to boost his own ego at the expense of everything else. We saw this dynamic play out dramatically in Washington, D.C. this week as Jordan’s right wing allies and the Fox News disinformation and propaganda machine kicked into full gear to help Jordan bully his way into the Speaker’s office.

Members of Congress, members of Jordan’s own Republican Party, received countless death threats, calls and text messages intimidating and attempting to scare them into voting for Jordan as Speaker. Many members even reported that their spouses—mostly women who are not engaged in the business of politics—were being personally harassed and threatened in this fear and anger campaign to bully the holdouts to Jordan’s quest for power into submission.

Wouldn’t you know it: this tactic DID NOT WORK. Jordan’s clumsy attempt to mimic House of Cards resulted in his own downfall—for now, at least.

We will stay vigilant and keep working as hard as possible to defeat Jordan and everything he stands for. That's why I am here, and why I am running for this office. We are at a critical point in American democracy; what we do here and now could determine the future and fate of our republic for generations to come.

Please stand with me, and join this campaign to stop Jim Jordan’s divisive and dangerous leadership in Congress by helping me defeat Jordan this year—a contribution of $10 or more goes a long way in winning this fight for the future of our nation:

Although we disagree with almost all of the Republican holdouts who courageously opposed Jordan’s power play, let’s commend them for having the strength, integrity, and fortitude to stand up for what’s right and best for America.

Together, we can stop people like Jim Jordan and get America back to work.

In Solidarity,
