So the last few years, Arizona's legislature has passed a LOT of new elections legislation.
One of the pieces of legislation affected who could ask for a recount, and how long it might take. The problem is, some of those recounts would interfere with the deadlines for certification of some races.
I don't want there to be any disincentive for proper recounts, or for accurate results. So we are fixing it.
There are a million aspects of election integrity that affect whether people trust our elections. I am trying to work to tighten up everything I can.
