The transition to a clean economy isn’t just about protecting our environment; it’s also about creating good jobs and building a prosperous future for every American. 

President Joe Biden and climate champions in Congress have passed three historic pieces of legislation to help do just that: The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), and the CHIPS and Science Act. The IRA alone is projected to create more than 9 million jobs over the next 10 years.

But there’s a crucial piece of the puzzle that we need to address: making sure these new jobs in the clean, green economy are good mortgage and rent-paying union jobs. We’re teaming up with union workers at places like Amazon and Trader Joe’s to send a powerful message to President Biden and Congress, but we need your help.

Union jobs provide better pay, benefits, and workplace safety, earning more than their non-union counterparts. Additionally, unions play a pivotal role in narrowing racial and gender wealth gaps, ensuring that marginalized and displaced workers benefit from strong labor standards and protections.

On top of that, the IRA rewards employers with significant tax credits when they meet labor standards for clean energy projects.

Safer workplaces mean more resilient workers, lower labor costs, and a more prosperous future for everyone.
