I don’t mean to brag or anything, John — but this might be the most important email you read all day.
Here’s the deal: Mississippi voters head to the polls in just 18 days. And polling shows a razor-thin race between me and Tate Reeves. But there’s one thing we can’t avoid: He’s got more money than we do.
We’ve got a plan to make up that deficit. It calls for a historic investment into Black voter turnout, and it’s starting to turn heads around the country:
NYT: Black Voters Have New Power in Mississippi. Can They Elect a Democrat?
Black Mississippi and white Mississippi have been purposely, strategically, and with intent, divided by a group of good ole boys like Tate Reeves. Our investments are about bridging that gap and bringing a historic coalition together on Election Day to move Mississippi forward.
But this sort of strategy has never been done before in Mississippi, and turning out voters is expensive. We have a $130,000 budget gap that we need to meet if we’re going to fully fund our investments.
That’s why I’m reaching out, John. Can I count on you to chip in $5, $25, or any amount right now to help us fire Tate Reeves in just 18 days?
I couldn’t do this without you,
Brandon Presley
