I was born into a family that never gave up on their dreams.
My parents immigrated from Peru in search of a better life for us.
They both worked on factory lines to make ends meet.
Our family of 5 lived in a one-bedroom apartment until my dad got a union job.
Eventually, I was a part of the first generation of our family to graduate from college.

Throughout my life, I’ve carried with me the determination to fight for people no matter where they're from or how they grew up because those are the values my parents instilled in me.
