I get a lot of questions from folks like you about what the 2024 elections mean for our state.

My answer is that they mean everything.

You’ve probably heard the phrase “the election of our lifetimes” before. It seems to get used just about every single election year. But it’s not hyperbole — each election does have real-life consequences that will determine the course of our future.

During my terms as governor, Democratic lawmakers and I have worked hard to undo some of the damage Republican legislators and the last Republican Governor caused. But now that the GOP has a one-vote supermajority in Raleigh, they’re trying to undo our progress and move our state backward.

A dangerous abortion ban.

Anti-democracy legislation to throw our elections into chaos.

If they’re not defeated at the ballot box next year, these radical lawmakers will continue to do untold harm to our communities.
