Attached below are the agenda, draft legislative platform, executive director's report, July meeting minutes and the Zoom link for our KCDC meeting on Friday, November 3rd. We are still meeting in person at the Topeka/Shawnee County Public Library at 1515 SW 10th in Topeka, but I know some could not participate in person so the virtual link is available.
Please take a few minutes to read and consider the draft legislative platform. I know one commissioner would like to talk about Medicaid, elimination subminimum wage and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiting lists as part of our legislative agenda. If there are other topics to consider, please make notes about that issue and let me know you would like a few minutes to talk about your issue for our legislative agenda. I have allocated an hour for this discussion.
Also, the tentative 2024 meeting schedule has us meeting on the 2nd Friday of February. The last two years, the Bob Bethell Joint Committee on HCBS and KanCare has scheduled their meeting on the first Friday when we usually have our meeting. In an attempt to avoid that conflict again, I am suggesting the second Friday of February. Please review the proposed dates and be ready to discuss if there are conflicts with other meetings.
One last thing, the KCDC website will be moved to a new platform in December and major changes may be made. I would like to have two or three commissioners look over the website and then meet with me virtually to talk about what we should keep and what could be eliminated. All of you may do a review and send me your thoughts.
