Friends,

This weekend our nation experienced another tragic round of mass shootings — one of which took place less than 100 miles from my hometown in Ohio.

These deaths are at the hands of domestic terrorism, and one person stands in the way of us being able to fight this epidemic.

If Mitch McConnell acted on behalf of the American people, he’d call the Senate back to session immediately and pass the two bipartisan bills we passed in the House months ago.

Unfortunately, the leader of the Senate believes in serving the NRA over the people of Gilroy, El Paso, Dayton, or any of the victims of this year’s 255 mass shootings to date.

Thoughts and prayers are nothing without action so here are two things we can all do to urge immediate action:

Call your Senators and demand they take a vote on the gun reform package the House passed — you can reach the switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

Make a donation to an organization working to end gun violence, like Mom’s Demand Action.

Thoughts, prayers, and hollow words are not enough, the American people deserve leaders who will stand up to the gun lobby and protect their lives. I will never stop fighting to end the scourge of gun violence in this nation.
