Team, a week since Kevin McCarthy was removed, we're still without a Speaker.

Now MAGA extremists Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan are running for the Speakership. They both voted to overturn the 2020 election, defended Donald Trump at every turn, and are even more conservative than Kevin McCarthy.

Just as they did in January, House Democrats are now coming together to stand behind Hakeem Jeffries — no matter the Republican chaos.

But we can't ignore that once again, the House has been thrown into chaos by Republican infighting. Instead of taking on the challenges that the American people and the world are facing, they’re taking on each other.

While the House GOP has been busy plunging our government into crisis after crisis, they have ignored the issues that matter most to their constituents. The gun violence epidemic, healthcare, reproductive rights, the climate crisis — all of these have been neglected by the Republican majority for far too long.

We need to vote them out and put real leadership back in the House in 2024.
