Deepen your constitutional knowledge and enhance your classroom instruction strategies for teaching constitutional topics with Saturday Seminars at the National Constitution Center.

During the program, teachers tour the museum’s exhibitions, participate in classroom application sessions, and practice civil dialogue techniques, and learn about exciting opportunities like CAP and Exchanges. There is no cost to attend the Seminars and they are open to all classroom teachers currently working with grades 5–12.

There are two more Saturday Seminars this school year:
  • April 18 – Federalism
  • May 2 – Electoral College

In addition to Saturday Seminars, the education team provides professional development opportunities at your school or at the Center. These workshops can be customized to the topic and time frame that best fits into your curriculum. Email [email protected] for more information.
The Center's PD workshops provide the opportunity to learn more about two exciting programs: Classroom Exchanges and Constitutional Ambassadors.
Classroom Exchanges provide students the opportunity to use their voice and answer constitutional questions about topics that matter in their lives. These online conversations between your class and another class across the United States allow students to engage in civil dialogue and provide the skills to disagree without being disagreeable.

The Center is hosting Exchanges on the following dates:
  • Friday, March 27
  • Monday, April 13
  • Thursday, April 30
  • Tuesday, May 19
  • Friday, May 22
  • Tuesday, June 9
  • Friday, June 12

More than just a field trip, the Constitutional Ambassadors experience for middle and high school students begins in the classroom, but extends to a visit to the Center.

Visits include a:
  • self-guided exploration of the museum
  • workshop on a key constitutional topic
  • conversation with a legal expert on how the Constitution applies to daily life
  • civil dialogue to discuss everything learned throughout the day.

The experience follows students back to their classrooms, where they participate in a Classroom Exchange with another school across the country. Participating teachers receive a free Professional Development workshop, which the education team will help plan and facilitate.

The Constitutional Ambassadors program is FREE for all students in the Philadelphia area. Transportation included.
