1) How To Pay For Biden’s $100 Billion for Ukraine, Israel, and “Humanitarian Aid”

We’re solidly against this massive expenditure at a time when Washington is already running a record $24 trillion debt. But IF Congress is going to enact this blizzard of new spending, Republicans should insist that EVERY PENNY of this money should be paid for by slashing Biden's Green New Deal subsidies from the "Inflation Reduction Act" and canceling the Biden $380+ Billion Green Energy Slush Fund.

There’s a rough justice here because it was Biden’s war on American energy and his obsession with climate change that provided much of the money for the Vladimir Putin invasion of Ukraine and the rockets fired at Israel.

In the meantime, Democrats will just have to find another way to funnel the tens of billions of dollars into the coffers of their contributors (see below).

2) Speaking of the Green Energy Slush Fund, Biden Green New Deal Loan Czar Busted for Pay-To-Play

As mentioned above, the Biden Inflation Acceleration Act funds a $380 BILLION green slush fund that is getting passed out to environmental groups, the wind and solar industries, and leftwing advocacy organizations. We predicted this massive honey pot of money would invite swindles and payoffs.

Right on cue, Biden's federal loan guarantee czar, Jigar Shah, has reportedly been running a scheme where donating to his enviro non-profit unlocks access to the federal loans he controls. The Free Beacon reports:

The Cleantech Leaders Roundtable has seen a surge in its influence and revenue since its former president, Shah, was tapped to lead the powerful $400 billion Department of Energy Loan Programs Office (LPO) in 2021.

The group, which didn’t have a website until three years ago, now regularly hosts sold-out receptions featuring Shah for its paying members across the country. Last week, the DOE Loans Program Office and Cleantech Leaders co-hosted an invitation-only conference in Washington, D.C., for companies looking for loans—and Cleantech Leaders was in charge of the invite list and ticket sales.

During this time, companies connected to the trade association have raked in cash from Shah’s office. Last week, the Loan Programs Office approved a $3 billion loan to a solar company led by Cleantech Leaders’s board director. The group’s corporate sponsors have also pulled in funding...

The DOE said Cleantech Leaders was in charge of the guest list and sponsors for the event.

But the group’s tight control of the invitation list for a government co-hosted conference irked some energy industry insiders. One said it looked like a "pay-to-play scheme.”

Ya think?

When Senator Josh Hawley tried to pin Shah down on this yesterday, Shah denied loan applicants paid to hear him speak, then admitted it was true, then said "I'm not that important," and then froze like a deer in headlights:

3) Health Care Price Transparency Could Save Hundreds of Billions of Dollars
Yesterday in the Hotline we spotlighted the rapid inflation in health care costs over the past decade since Obamacare was made the law of the land.  A new study by CTUP co-founder Arthur Laffer and Cynthia Fisher estimates that requiring health care providers to post prices for their medical services could save patients and companies more than $500 billion a year.

The study documents wild swings in prices of the same medical service depending on the insurance company and the provider. The example below shows that in the same geographical area, the cost of a brain MRI can range from $700 to $6,700 – for the same service:

The study concludes: “Over the last 50 years, U.S. healthcare spending as a share of GDP has gone from in line with the OECD average to nearly twice as much. At the same time, the U.S. has gone from a leader to a laggard in life expectancy. America has a momentous opportunity to put these trends in reverse through systemwide healthcare price transparency.”

Price transparency, combined with insurance reforms – which would require patients to pay for routine medical expenditures out of pocket – would incentivize healthcare consumers to be more price-sensitive, which would drive down rampant medical costs.

4) Don’t Let the Door Hit Your Fanny on the Way Out
Democrats want a divorce from red-state America:

Ok. Deal.

Bye.

Sayonara.

Au revoir.

We hardly knew ye.

5) Chart of the Day
This year interest on the debt for the first time ever exceeded our entire military/national defense budget. That chasm will grow wider and wider each and every year for the next 20 years at least. We are soon closing in on spending $1,000,000,000,000 each year JUST on interest payments. It just goes to show that our national debt is an economic AND national security emergency.
