Far-right Rep. Jim Jordan just announced that he’s running for Speaker of the House again — after three failed votes.

Jim Jordan’s extreme stances on everything from reproductive rights to access to healthcare have no place in Congress. Just take a look at what Republican Rep. Tom Cole, who nominated him for Speaker, had to say:

“He’s had the courage to talk about a long-term plan and to get at the real drivers of debt. … We all know it’s Social Security. We all know it’s Medicare. We all know it’s Medicaid.”

Then all but 22 House Republicans voted for Jim Jordan to be their Speaker.

Democrats are delivering for working people, and we can’t afford to let Republicans take back the Senate and enact their radical agenda. Can you pitch in a donation of any amount right now to help us keep the Senate and New Mexico blue?

Right now, House Republicans are at a legislative standstill — after spending the first months of their majority doing the bidding of the most radical members of their base. Meanwhile, our Democratic Senate Majority is hard at work — and we have the results to show for it.

We’ve passed critical legislation to improve the lives and livelihoods of working people — from helping families and businesses recover from COVID-19 to lowering costs and tackling climate change with the Inflation Reduction Act.

Yet the best “leader” Republicans can get more than a handful of their members behind right now is Jim Jordan.

Jim Jordan, who has repeatedly tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act and rip away healthcare access from millions of Americans.

Jim Jordan, who helped lead the charge to try to overturn the 2020 election results and refused to comply with the January 6 Committee’s subpoena.

Jim Jordan, who wants to cut critical programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

We need leaders who work for progress, not extremists like Jim Jordan and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who are dead-set on an extreme agenda.

But to keep Democrats in the majority, we need to defend 23 Senate seats next year — including mine in New Mexico. Please help fuel our work to hold our majority by pitching in now >>
