From the moment Republicans took the majority, it’s been chaos at every turn.
In January, it took fifteen rounds of voting for Kevin McCarthy to even become Speaker. But his agenda wasn’t extreme enough for some Republicans, so he was ousted after just nine months.
Now, for a second time in a row, Ken Calvert and Republicans in the House tried and failed to make MAGA-extremist Jim Jordan Speaker.
Not only was Jordan a ringleader to overturn the 2020 election, he led efforts to shut down the government in order to defund the Affordable Care Act and wants to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.
Our community deserves better than a career politician who will bow to the MAGA caucus and its extreme agenda.
