John,
When tensions escalate in the Middle East, we have seen hatred against Jewish people rise in the U.S. and around the world. Anger over the Israel-Hamas conflict can seep into American society in the form of antisemitic harassment, assault, and vandalism.
Houses of worship, universities, community centers, and nonprofits are forced to spend their already limited funds on security. The Nonprofit Security Grant Program was enacted to support nonprofits to improve their security measures, such as security cameras, reinforced doors, and emergency preparedness training. The demand has dramatically outpaced the available funding – and only continues to grow. President Biden and his administration have delivered a record amount of funding to this vital program, but as tensions grow in the Middle East, American Jewish communities must be protected from feeling the ripples of hate at home.
We have a few hours left to urge the President to request $500 million in emergency funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Please join ADL right now and help protect our communities from hate.
