Friend,
What an exciting day! Dozens of our Volunteers of America staff and volunteer leaders from across the country are in Washington, D.C. and headed to Capitol Hill to advocate for vital programs that local communities rely on.
You don’t have to be on Capitol Hill with us today to add your voice >>
Dramatic cuts have been proposed to affordable housing. As one of the U.S.’s largest—and most effective—nonprofit housing organizations, it is deeply concerning with how those cuts would impact the people we serve.
Housing is more than just a place to sleep, it is the foundation for life. And thanks to your past support and public funding programs, our seniors, veterans, families, and people with special needs, can count on a safe, stable place and support for a better life.
This is why advocates are headed to hundreds of legislative meetings today, to defend those who cannot speak for themselves. Our other areas of focus this year are Healthcare, Senior Services, and Veterans & Moral Injury. Our VOA advocates are not lobbyists or policy wonks, they are program experts and deeply knowledgeable with the on-the-ground realities in their communities of need. They are here speaking from the heart about programs that are so critically important to our communities.
ADD YOUR VOICE: Tell Congress you care about families in need>>
Thank you! We appreciate your steadfast support and standing with us in spirit today!
