In a few weeks, Ohioans will get the chance to enshrine reproductive freedoms in their constitution. The GOP's dirty tricks are the only thing standing in their way

Indivisibles,

Have you seen this?

Headline from The New Republic that reads: Ohio Republicans sneak in sinister change to abortion ballot language.

In August, we helped defeat MAGA Republicans' attempt to rig the ballot initiative process and block Ohio voters from protecting and expanding abortion access in their November election.

Now, Ohioans will vote directly on an amendment to enshrine reproductive freedoms in their state constitution. It’s a massively popular amendment, and without GOP interference, it would likely pass overwhelmingly. Unfortunately, Republicans haven't stopped trying to undermine the democratic process.

After MAGA lost the August election, the Republican Secretary of State rewrote the ballot language in a final, desperate attempt to mislead voters and block the measure (just the description on the ballot -- the amendment is untouched). Abortion rights activists sued, but the Republican-controlled state Supreme Court has kept the misleading language largely intact.

This brazen attempt to confuse Ohio voters makes our voter contact efforts all the more important. We have to mobilize voters in Ohio and make sure they know exactly what they’re voting on this November. With less than a month to go until Election Day, can you pitch in to help us scale up our get out the vote work and protect abortion rights in Ohio?

Abortion bans are unpopular, and the GOP knows it. That's why they have to resort to undermining democracy to impose their agenda. If they succeed this fall, they will continue to roll back reproductive freedoms in Ohio, and the GOP will have a blueprint for sabotaging ballot initiatives across the country.

We’re fighting back and over the coming weeks, we’ll be hosting peer-to-peer textbanking, offering our phonebanking tools and technical support to our coalition partners, and Indivisible groups will be sending out the last of the 75,000 GOTV postcards we’ve provided.

We’re also rolling out our secret weapon: Our field-tested and data-proven Neighbor2Neightbor canvassing program that allows anyone in the state to knock doors in their neighborhoods on their own schedules. Based on the results of our pilot program in the 2022 midterms, Neighbor2Neighbor is game-changing, more effective than any other tactic we've tested. Through this program, Indivisibles will serve as trusted sources, having meaningful conversations with their neighbors, dispelling the GOP’s lies, and turning out the vote.

With just three weeks until Election Day, we’re so close to winning this fight -- but with the GOP trying to deceive voters, we can’t leave anything to chance. If you’re in a position to give, click here to pitch in and help fund our work to mobilize voters and secure reproductive rights for Ohio.
