This Women’s History Month, explore the 19th Amendment on our Interactive Constitution. The amendment, which guaranteed that the right to vote could “not be denied or abridged … on account of sex,” was ratified 100 years ago this August!
Did you know that, to help pass the 19th Amendment, women led the first protest at the White House? In honor of Women’s History Month, we are hosting Classroom Exchanges that focus on historical and modern understandings of the First Amendment rights of assembly and petition.
Classroom Exchanges give high school students the opportunity to connect with other students across the country in real-time, face-to-face conversation about constitutional questions with expert moderators.
