Before being elected to Congress, I served on the Tacoma City Council and was honored to later serve as Mayor of Tacoma. These experiences showed me the importance of electing strong local leaders.
That’s why I’m proud to support Tacoma City Council Member Olgy Diaz’s campaign. She is the first, and only, Latina to serve on the Tacoma City Council and is the fighter Tacoma needs.

Olgy knows the value of hard work. She grew up in a military and union household right here in Tacoma and is the daughter of immigrants.
Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about her opponent, who is running on a regressive platform of criminalizing homelessness.
Olgy has spent her career working to make our community more just and equitable. We need her to continue that work on the Tacoma City Council and be a voice for everyone.
