Dear Colleague,
The United States just appeared before the periodic review of the Human Rights Committee, and was grilled on the question of abortion, particularly in light of the Supreme Court striking down Roe v. Wade. The Biden team did not defend the report issued to the committee by the Trump administration a few years ago in which the Trump administration correctly explained there is no international right to abortion in the treaty under discussion. The Biden team seems to acquiesce in the proposition that there is an international right to abortion. Shame on them. Rebecca Oas, Ph.D. reports [[link removed]].
The CEDAW committee has issued a new report on the girl child and, guess what, they say the girl child cannot succeed without access to abortion. Abortion appears nowhere in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. The new report is a lie and a sham. Iulia Cazan reports [[link removed]].
