While Northern and Upper Michiganders are dealing with rising costs and bracing for another winter, extremists in Congress can’t even get our government to operate. They’ve been fighting for two weeks over who they want as the Speaker of the House — that’s two weeks where they’ve been unable to vote on anything that’d actually help Northern and Upper Michigan families.
Jack Bergman voted TWICE for Jim Jordan — who’s radical and out of touch — for Speaker this week. And, late yesterday, reports came out that he might throw his hat into the ring and vie for the role of Speaker himself.
Who, precisely, does Jack Bergman speak for? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We honestly couldn’t tell you.
* In 2016, when he first ran for Congress, Bergman referred to himself as a snowbird.
* He signed onto the amicus brief in support of overturning the 2020 election.
* He’s voted against infrastructure and broadband investments in this district.
* And he voted against adequately funding Veterans Affairs.
Put it another way: Jack doesn’t know jack about what this district cares about. He certainly doesn’t speak for us — he’s more interested in Washington politics than serving his constituents.
Callie’s running to unseat Rep. Bergman and take back our democracy from divisive extremists. She’s ready to work for you, but she needs your support: Can you chip in right now to help Callie defeat Bergman?
