News, commentary, and dispatches on the fight for freedom across America
Hello John,
Americans for Prosperity advocates for principled policy that protects freedom
and opportunity—not government cronyism and Bidenomics.
Ultimately, reducing excessive government spending and cutting government
overregulation is the only way to stop inflation.
This is the Torchlight—our news roundup shows all the ways YOU + Americans for
Prosperity make a real change in America’s trajectory.
Washington’s Debt Snowball Headed Downhill
Under President Biden, Washington’s spending crisis has started to snowball.
* This year’s deficit has doubled from last year – the largest non-emergency
deficit we’ve ever run.
* Spending in FY 2023 was $966 billion higher than what the Congressional
Budget Office projected it would be when Biden took office.
* The U.S. debt has passed $33 trillion.
* Interest rates remain near record highs, the 10-year Treasury yield is
soaring, andinterest costs themselves are now the biggest drivers of more
borrowing.
Inflation is the top concern with nearly every group of voters. Yet fewer than
10% of voters believe Republicans in Congress are focused on fighting inflation.
We can’t let debt destroy our country. Congress needs a plan to address
America’s debt and the high cost of living so that all Americans can say
they’re better off than they were before.
We have that plan.

The First Amendment Explicitly Protects Americans from Silencing by Government

“Beyond being fundamentally anti-American, this attempt to weaponize a
regulatory agency to silence the press is extremely short-sighted…
At the end of the day, Philadelphians care about being home to the
Constitution and the watching the Eagles win.”

wrote about the FCC and regulatory overreach on broadcast TV in theDelaware
Valley Journal.

REIN it in!
We are in the midst of an economic crisis. Inflation is high, cost-of-living
is rising, and the national debt is soaring. It’s time we hold this
administration responsible for the overreach, over-spending, and
over-regulations that are causing hard-working Americans to suffer.
