John,
After last night's Super Tuesday results, this is clear to me:
Our movement is more powerful than ever, but we are in a fight for the soul of this country. We cannot take a single election for granted, but we also know that no matter what happens over the coming weeks and month, elections alone won’t be enough.
The movement for the Green New Deal doesn’t start, or stop, at the ballot box. We know big change has never been won through elections alone. That’s why our movement is oriented around a guiding strategy for this year of: Organize, Vote, and Strike.
The next big moment in that strategy comes seven weeks from today on April 22nd — the 50th anniversary of the original Earth Day, which saw 20 million people in the streets. We’re going to show the politicians in power that we are not letting up by making this Earth Day the biggest climate strike in US history. Sign up now for Sunday's mass call to learn how.
This Sunday at 5 PM EST we’re hosting a mass call to lay out our historic plans for Earth Day 2020 and talk about the next electoral fights on the horizon. If you're coming out of Super Tuesday feeling ready to get involved, join us on the mass call this Sunday at 5pm EST to learn how we continue to build people power and political power in this moment.
History has shown that when millions of young people dedicate themselves to a cause, and show up in overwhelming numbers, revolutionary change isn’t just possible — it’s inevitable.
As long as we are organizing our generation into an unstoppable force in American politics, we will eventually ensure that the Green New Deal comes to pass — no matter what happens this election. RSVP here for the call on March 8th to build this movement with us.
This is a critical moment. In the weeks ahead, we can win more Congressional elections for young Green New Deal champions in IL and OH, and then just weeks after that, we can deliver a nationwide generational indictment of the ruling class on Earth Day 2020. RSVP to join us on the mass call this Sunday at 5pm EST to learn the plan.
The old world is dying. The new world is struggling to be born.
But together, we got this.
