This week, we told Nikolas’s story of going from scared, starving and alone to finding his happily ever after—to show you how far your support can go, and how much it means to an animal who is suffering. We created The Nikolas Fund so we can help more animals like him and give them the second chances and new beginnings they deserve.

When Nikolas was left in the trash, thrown away like garbage, his story could have had a tragic ending.

During his time with us, Nikolas gained weight through a specialized treatment plan, his injuries healed and his infections cleared. Then, the best part of his journey began when he met Andrew.


After Andrew adopted Nikolas, the two became the best of friends. Nikolas’s polaroid graces the walls of their local pet supply store, and he’s a regular at their local dog cafe. “Dreams do come true,” says Andrew.


Today Nikolas is safe, happy and healthy.
