Dear John,
The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) has launched several critical grassroots campaigns over the past year opposing fiscally reckless Socialist policies being advocated by Democratic presidential candidates and members of Congress. I know from the tremendous response to these campaigns that our members and supporters believe that these proposals are a serious threat to our economy and personal freedoms. If you have not contacted your elected officials to let them know how your feel about these Socialist policies, I urge you to take action today!
No Green New Deal – In February 2019, new Democratic Party standard-bearer and self-described Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) introduced the radical Green New Deal, which would hand over vast amounts of power to the federal government and cost taxpayers as much as $93 trillion over 10 years. The Senate defeated the plan, but many provisions of the Green New Deal are still being debated in the House of Representatives, and the plan is supported by every Democratic candidate for President. Tell your U.S. Representative to oppose the Green New Deal!
No Medicare for All – In 2019, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) reintroduced his signature Medicare for All bill. This socialized medicine scheme would outlaw private health insurance and force Americans to participate in a government-run healthcare system that will cause rationing and reduce access to doctors, at an astronomical cost of $32 trillion over 10 years. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has pledged to hold a vote to force senators to take a position on this radical proposal. Tell your U.S. Senators to oppose Medicare for All!
No Student Loan Bailout – Many leading Democratic members of Congress and candidates for President have proposed a taxpayer-funded bailout of student loan debt. Paying off all outstanding student loans would come with a price tag of as much as $1.5 trillion – a costly slap in the face to every American who has scrimped and saved to pay back a student loan as promised. Tell your U.S. Representative and Senators that you oppose a taxpayer-funded student loan bailout!
