Jack, in THREE weeks, voters in three crucial states will go to the polls for state elections that could have national consequences:

Before I go into detail on these races, I have to ask: Can you donate $1 to each of these 13 races in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia? They could have enormous consequences not just for the people that live there but even for the 2024 presidential election.

OHIO ISSUE 1: Back in 2019, Ohio Republicans passed a bill banning abortions at just five or six weeks into pregnancy—a point at which many don't even know they're pregnant. An Ohio judge allowed the law to come into effect just hours after the right-wing supermajority on the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. This horrifying law has already made national headlines, with a 10-year-old girl having to travel to Indiana for an abortion after she was raped. The law is now on pause, but the far-right state Supreme Court could reinstate it at any time.

However, we can prevent them from doing so: Next month, Ohians go to the polls to vote on Issue 1, which would enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution. With Republicans in some states now looking to criminalize the mere act of driving to get an abortion, the stakes here couldn't be higher.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE SUPREME COURT: Donald Trump tried to steal the 2020 election, and he'll try to steal the 2024 election if he gets the chance. Winning here would go a long way toward stopping him.

Pennsylvania was central to Trump's 2020 election scheme—the indictment against him mentions the state 20 times—but the state Supreme Court shut down Trump's legal efforts to steal the state's electoral votes. Winning this election would be an absolutely enormous win for democracy and a massive xxxxxx against any 2024 plot.
VIRGINIA STATE LEGISLATURE: Control of the Virginia state legislature is on a knife's edge. Democrats hold 22 of the 40 seats in the state Senate while Republicans hold 52 of the 100 seats in the state House. Needless to say, both parties are going all out for control this fall.

A lot is at stake: a statewide abortion ban, the gutting of public education, and a rollback of environmental laws are all on the Republican agenda—and all things that Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin is itching to sign into law as he considers a late entry into the presidential race.

That's not all, though. A Republican-controlled legislature could support Trump's efforts to rig the 2024 election, be it through new voter suppression laws or something even more nefarious. (Trump was already fanning the flames of the Big Lie in the state's governor's race two years ago.) Virginia is still swingy, especially in off-year elections, so we can't leave anything to chance.
