Dear John,
A new study published by the Fraser Institute today ranks employment income growth in the largest 141 metropolitan areas in Canada and the United States from 2010 to 2019.
Unfortunately, only three Canadian cities rank in the top half!
St. Catharines-Niagara ranked 51st, Quebec City 52nd, and Vancouver 57th. While Toronto, Canada's largest metropolitan area, ranked 102nd.
Employment income in Canada’s largest cities is growing much more slowly than in comparable US cities – and this gap has only widened throughout the 2010s.
Check out the full results here, and be sure to share this news on social media.
Sincerely,
Niels Veldhuis
President
