Dear John,

In recent weeks we have been reminded of how important it is to be there for people in times of crisis. The Israeli-Palestinian Crisis and devastating earthquakes in Afghanistan mean families are losing their homes, their loved ones and need urgent help. In Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) our partner is already supporting communities with urgent food, supplies and shelter, others will start as soon as it is safe to do so. In Afghanistan, our local experts are providing tents, blankets and food.

Your support is so vital to making sure people get the help they need, in the moment they need it the most. People like Meera, a mother who lost her home when floods devastated Pakistan.

Please donate today – it makes such a difference.

Meera felt herself go into labour as terrifying floodwater filled her home.

“My house was full of water,” she says. “Just reaching the road was very difficult. The floodwater was up to our knees.”

After battling against the rain and the rising water to make it to the hospital, Meera had her baby safely – a little girl called Marwi. But when she brought her back from the hospital, her home was gone – swept away by the flood.

The family moved into a temporary shelter at the side of the road. But with little food and nothing but contaminated water to drink, diseases started to spread throughout the camp, and Meera and her children soon became sick.

Please donate to help more people when they need it most. Because of donations like yours medical experts quickly reached Meera and gave her and her children medicine. Your support means our local experts can respond to emergencies quickly, before emergency funds are raised.

With thanks for reading and best wishes,
