How your support helps fund STOP THE TRAFFIK's work

Our goal this year is to encourage people to ‘Imagine a Future’ ([link removed]) where human trafficking can be prevented before it even happens. The response to this campaign has been incredible, with many people supporting us in our mission.

** Prevention in Action

STOP THE TRAFFIK Group ([link removed]) aims to reduce the recruitment of vulnerable people required to sustain the organised global business of human trafficking.

We deliver high-impact digital Prevention Programmes ([link removed]) that deploy geo-targeted campaigns via social media to provide life-saving safety information to at-risk communities. By empowering people with knowledge and technology, we are making a real impact in the fight against human trafficking.

------------------------------------------------------------

Our prevention work is always live and desperately needed, and we are currently running programmes targeting Romanian speakers in three London boroughs: Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Westminster.

In early 2024, we will launch “Project Prevenirea şi Perturbarea” to disrupt the sexual exploitation trafficking route between Romania and the UK.

The Romania to UK route is heavily run by Organised Crime Groups. Young women in Romania are being recruited into sexual exploitation through social media sites and being advertised for sexual services in the UK, having little or no control over this process.

This project aims to Uncover routes and hotspots of exploitation in Romania and work to prevent those at high risk in those regions from being recruited.

** Using Technology to Disrupt Human Trafficking
------------------------------------------------------------
Human trafficking is happening in plain sight all around us. The STOP APP is one way we can help get a richer picture of what’s happening on the ground.
Every human trafficking story, no matter how long or short, whether current or historic, is important and relevant. It may be the missing piece of the puzzle, contributing to a larger and more accurate picture of human trafficking, which can then inform efforts to combat it. Technology places the power to prevent into the hand of a person who holds a mobile device.

** Anti-Slavery Day 2023
------------------------------------------------------------
In recognition of Anti-Slavery Day 18^th October 2023, STOP THE TRAFFIK Group, in collaboration with Fenix Aid, ([link removed]) launches a report titled “Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking of Forcibly Displaced Persons in Greece and Türkiye”.

On this awareness day, it is crucial to highlight the importance of efforts, including early identification, training officials who interact directly with survivors or individuals at risk, and ensuring that these individuals have access to their rights.
