Have you ever been lost? I mean, have you ever gone in the wrong direction or not known where to turn for help?
When I was a young man, boy was I lost! I grew up in poverty with a single mom. I largely didn’t have a relationship with my father. I was angry and upset. I didn’t know what to do.
I almost flunked out my freshman year of high school. I was the class clown and thought I had to play football to get ahead.
Thank the good Lord, my mother, my grandparents, and a few special mentors in my life helped me find the right path. They taught me the importance of working hard in school, working hard to get a job and provide for myself, and having faith in God.
When I became a Christian, it radically changed how I saw and lived my life. In my faith I found strength, purpose, and promise. To this day, I lean not on my own understanding but on the Good Word and the teachings of Jesus.
I think if we focus our attention back towards the Gospel, we'd solve a lot of problems in our nation. We need faith in God and faith in each other to move forward.
