Together UFCW Local 99, the Arizona Education Association, and Communications Workers of America Arizona State Council represent well over 44,000 hardworking Arizonans. Through my experience as an organizer with Mi Familia Vota, an SEIU civic participation program, and working for UFCW Local 99 nearly two decades ago, I learned the power of unions.
I’ve seen how our union family has stood against extremists here in Arizona attacking working families, education, immigrants, and health care access. Never once did our friends in labor say, “those aren’t our fights.” They said, “we have your back.” And we will always have theirs.
