Friend, this is Aquilino Gonell. Former Capitol Police Officer.
If you need any more evidence that the Republican Party has to be defeated, look at what they’ve done over the last few days.
The House GOP put up Jim Jordan as their pick for Speaker.
Jim Jordan is an insurrectionist. Jim Jordan is a material witness to the events leading up to, during, and after the assault on our Capitol on January 6th. He refused to comply with a lawful subpoena from the committee investigating January 6, meddled with the Georgia election interference probe, and has proposed budget cuts to the FBI and the Department of Justice. He betrayed his oath to our country.
While I fought for my life against the traitors at the Capitol — while my fellow officers and I were beaten, kicked, spit on, cursed at — Jim Jordan spread lies about our elections and voted for those lies. He has never stopped. He continues to undermine our democracy.
Jim Jordan is dangerous. How can we trust him to uphold the law if he is not able to comply with a subpoena? How can we trust that he will faithfully defend the Constitution when he has done everything in his power to undermine it? He shouldn’t even be in Congress, let alone second in line to the presidency.
But that’s the GOP in 2023. That is why I am working so hard to stop them from taking their dangerous rhetoric, their dangerous actions with them to the Senate.
That is why I am supporting Ruben Gallego, a friend who acted heroically on the House floor on January 6th.
And that is why I am asking you to make a donation to his campaign, to help him defeat Kari Lake. The MAGA Queen. Another insurrectionist sympathizer who has done untold damage to our democracy.
Please:
Can Ruben count on your support in his Senate campaign against Kari Lake in Arizona? Make a generous donation here, if you can.
