Some of you who’ve been around a long time know that I used to be a professional fighter in MMA. I believe being a member of Congress isn’t actually that different. To be successful, you’ve got to show up for your constituents every day—no matter what you end up facing.
Every day I’m in Congress, I’m standing up for KS-03 and for everyone to have access to a more just and fair world—whether that be pushing back against the climate crisis or passing the marriage equality law.
That’s why I’m proud that today, I was included in the Out100 list of most impactful LGBTQ+ people. I am always proud to stand up for the LGBTQ+ community.
But the attacks keep coming in. The NRCC just landed a punch with their brand new misleading attacks against my record.
House Republicans are less concerned about governing than they are about causing a stir. From creating jobs to delivering for veterans, to supporting affordable rural housing, to passing the Farm Bill, we can’t afford to let them halt our work now. But every day is going to be more and more challenging.
