It’s been 15 years since Congress let the last assault weapons ban expire. We shouldn’t have to wait another day for them to pass a new one.

From Sandy Hook and Parkland to El Paso and Dayton, so many of these mass shootings have all had the same thing in common: assault weapons. Congress can and should do more to get these weapons off our streets and out of the wrong hands. So, why haven’t they?
 
The answer is clear: Too many Republican politicians with A+ NRA ratings will keep offering up empty “thoughts and prayers” while telling us that it’s “too soon” to take action -- until it’s too late to prevent the next tragedy.
 
They’re pulling from the same tired playbook of distraction and inaction that’s stymied progress for decades. We HAVE to change that now. Will you stand with Gerry to demand Congress acts to end this crisis?
