Hi, it’s Jane Fonda.

We have less than 3 weeks until Election Day in Virginia, and we need to make sure our Climate Champions running for the State House and Senate have what they need to cross the finish line.

Under the right leadership, Virginia has proven to be a leader in climate progress. Their participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative has helped reduce harmful emissions, and the Virginia Clean Economy Act has accelerated the timeline to transition the state to a 100% renewable energy economy.

But recently, GOP Governor Youngkin has made it clear that he has no interest in protecting climate progress in the state. Fortunately, Democratic lawmakers have been able to push back on his efforts by holding a slim majority in the State Senate. To get back on track, we need to protect the Democratic Senate majority and win back the state House of Delegates in November.

Climate is not the only area where progress is under attack. The same people who are willing to compromise our climate in favor of corporate polluters are also attacking progress on reproductive rights, education, and voting rights, just to name a few. But together, I know we can fight back.
