If President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were killed or incapacitated, the speaker of the House would become president of the United States.
And right now, Republicans in Congress are trying to elevate Jim Jordan to that critical position. (Jordan got fewer votes today than he did yesterday, but remember that it took 15 votes over five days for Kevin McCarthy to become speaker back in January.)
We can’t let this happen.
- Jordan may well have been Donald Trump’s single most fervent lackey in all of Congress when it came to the Big Lie that the 2020 election was “stolen” and to assisting Trump’s attempted coup.
- Jordan also refused to comply with a subpoena from the bipartisan January 6 committee — his colleagues in the very chamber he now seeks to rule over.
- In fact, Jordan *still* won’t acknowledge to other members of his own party that Biden won the 2020 election legitimately.
- Former Speaker John Boehner — himself a noted right-wing reactionary not so long ago — once called Jordan a “legislative terrorist.”
Letting Jim Jordan wield the speaker’s gavel would be putting a full-blown MAGA insurrectionist second in line to be president.
Tell Congress: Under no circumstances should Jim Jordan be made speaker of the House.

Take action today even if you’ve taken action against Jordan already. Congress needs to hear from the American people again and again until Jordan’s bid for speaker is stopped for good.
Thanks for taking action.
